How do you get a good rooster????

Sure. I have “yard birds” and “coop birds”. My coop birds stay in all the time my yard birds stay out all the time. “Yard Manners” I guess is just when someone walks towards them they don't come at them. They still come near me, still, come running. Still, hang out with me. They just have “yard manners”. If I get up then everybody gets up. Everybody walks away.

I wish I would have read this thread before I ordered a Black Sumatra. I went with the idea my week olds would be a little more matured by mid October when he will arrive, but maybe I should give my girls more time and get him in the Spring?

Roosters weren't even on my radar as I had planned to have geese which now probably won't happen until next season.
