How do you guys keep the duck pool clean of poop?

I have 29 ducks and have 4 kiddie pools. I rinse them out and refill once a week. Drinking water trugs are filled every day.
As you can see in these two photos, they can get the water filthy in their pools even while I am filling them.

But, with all the rain we have had the past few weeks the ducks have been enjoying puddles around the barn, in the garden and yard when they've been free ranging.
They love noodling everywhere!

With wind chill they said 9 below so looks like winter finally did arrive. Took a long time this year. I have 4 heated buckets for my flock sometimes the geese like to use them to bathe they can go through half a bucket of water in no time. Hey @quackiemama 11 is frigid too. Is this normal temps for you? This is Abby normal for us.
I know the temp is colder but we don't seem to have the wind today like we did yesterday so it doesn't seem as bad. Yesterday was brutal! I filled my buckets last night and put them in the unused pen thinking they would be protected and not freeze. Wrong! Guess I'll be hauling buckets of warm water from the house for the next 10 days!

it actually got down to 6 overnight and no this is Abby Normal for us too. Generally winter will get down to the 20s but not this year. Today's high is now at 16 degrees and then tonight supposed to be around 5. Remember I am used to the heat from Texas, this little lady is learning how to winter. My buckets are not heated so I am having to swap them out throughout the day so they don't freeze. I did have a de-icer in their bigger pool but they were scared of the cord going into the water so they avoided that whole area like the plague. It is a good thing they are super cute

Yep I agree we can have temps into teens and that is normal but this is def Abby Normal. Thankfully only comes a few times in winter but an I shouldn't I looked at long range weather and they said for eastern part of USA below normal temps. I use to haul water. I wouldn't trade my heated buckets for nothing. :)

I am getting heated buckets ASAP. Hauling buckets uphill is not fun!

Having a drain on the duck pool makes cleaning super easy. We installed a 2" bulkhead to their pool with a hose and valve on the end. Makes draining and refilling quick and easy. The ducks have not even attempted playing in the pool yet today, it's too cold.

Yesterday morning I broke 3/4 inch thick ice on their kiddie pools and the flock was happily bathing! It was 22 degrees with a colder windchill....BRRRR!!!
