thank you. I don't worry about frostbite since they are covered in down. I was just wondering what to do if they went into the trees. I guess I will have to wait for them to grow up and see what happens. I will try to entice them with feed each night to get them into the pen when they are grown.

Scovies are prone to frost bite on their feet and & caruncling (and the subsequent poss. of gangrene setting in) so though they can withstand "colder" temps if you are getting low 20's and below regularly you need to provide shelter for them & even some additional heat if you're talking lower single digits and below 0. My Scovies did not do well or like winter temps when they dropped into the low & mid 20's last winter. They would come out of their shed and just DROP where they were standing....... scared me the first time it happened.

yea i mean turning the winter they go in everybody went in even the turkeys they went in by there self but the scovies and turkeys now that its summer they dont wanna go in

i used to let mine roam the backyard day & night (after being locked in at night for about 1.5 months). but they were pooping in places i did not want them to.. so now i have them in the corner of my backyard in a gated off area. it's a nice little grassy area and they seem happy. i don't really have to worry about predators so i don't lock them away at night. i love muscovys! so easy to take care of.
