How do you keep chickens from getting bored in winter?

How do you know they are bored? Chickens aren't as active in the winter for obvious reasons (cold and snow).

If the birds are pecking at each other, you probably don't have enough space. How many birds and how many square feet do you have?

I gave them a full size pumpkin! They sell for really cheap after October and the chickens go crazy rolling it around and getting the best bits. Plus it's great for their gut health!

I have 2 swings I made in my coop. Plus I hang some Cabbages and apples for them to peck at. I also have a corner that has a second tier with a gangplank to another corner. I also have a small 8x8x8 pen that is covered when they don't want to go out to their big run because of snow. But my coop is 16x21 so they have about 8SQFT each. All my roosts are equal height also.

You could try spreading straw out on top of the snow for them to walk on and pick through. They may be more likely to go out if their feet don't have to touch the snow. Mine are prissy too.
