How do you keep track?

I have 4 incubators and 1 hatcher right now and it gets crazy, especially this time of year. I always keep a marker in each coop that matches that bird (IE: blue in the BBS cochin pen, etc) I run a line down each egg with its prospective color, then whe I take the bucket of eggs tothe hatching house I write the collection date on each with a pencil for my own reference. When it's time to set them I write the set date on each with a different color marker. It may seem like a lot, but if you just set eggs in a tray thinking you are going to keep them there, you waste a lot of incubator space when you candle and have to incorporate other eggs from another tray ito fit more eggs in. I also keep a big desk calender in the hatching house to remind me when certain eggs come out. Like today, I looked at my calender and see that I have 400 chicken eggs coming out and going to the hatcher, I also see that today is the day to set my duck eggs that are going to hatch for Easter. Cuts down a lot on having to open the incubator unnecessarily.

I write on the top of the egg, and I keep a big calendar on top of the incubator.
