How do you keep your run perfect?

I see so many photos of these perfect and pretty runs with perfect sand and a clean ramp.
Yet this is my run above.
How can I get mine to look like the one with the black chickens?

I assure you not as many people have those gorgeous runs all the time, and those who do probably have to clean their coop and run pretty much everyday to keep it that way. Also that picture is by the chicken chick and her chickens are her job so she has to keep it nice.

When it rains and floods, most folks runs go from looking awesome to resembling a cow pen that needs to be mucked out. When the weather passes and all the detritus is taken out, and DE is laid down and then hay, they look awesome again. The aged compost is good for the garden though.
 
It's actually kind of bare, they could use more places to lounge on and under, there are some roosts just out of the shot above.
