love it! Both of my BBB's fly over the 4 foot fence but 1 comes back. The other one paces up and down outside the enclosure chirruping away and waiting for me to come back and open the gate so he can get back in. And telling me off for taking so long if I am away at work...
On a serious note, I hope it all worked out OK....

I was wondering, If i clip one of their wings, will it put them at risk during the cold winter nights? And also, won't that leave an open "caviy" for them to get sick or bugs to burrow themselves inside the hollow hole in the center part of their featers?
I'm thinking of getting the broad breasted turkeys next year. Does anyone know if they fly like all the other turkys?

Me too, but no one has them. and if they do they dont have any for sale. Let me know if you find someone that sells them. These 2 are also pretty cool. Its a Green Jungle Fowl and Curassow.

My red Bourbons are around 8 months now and I have a 8 ft chicken wire fence and clipped there wings 4 or 5 times till they really don't try to fly much any more the Toms are so fat they hit the ground with a thud when they try LOL.
The Hens are the pain now they keep pushing the bounds of the 5 acres when allowed to free range even when keeping some back in the coop that worked for a awhile but not lately.
They never got over the 8 ft fence even with a 4 ft perch in the middle of the 25 x 30 run while there wings were clipped.
If I forgot to clip there wings I would have to shake a Hen out of a tree when they free ranged LOL.

You only trim the feathers, not take part of the wing off ! Young BB turkeys fly, until they get too big to hardly walk, and are usually processed in 5 to 6 months or so. My heritage turkeys perch as high as they can get in the yard, but do not go into the woods that surround the house. They wait near the back door to get fed, the free loaders! I do not have wild turkeys in my area, that's probably why. Also I have 30 turkeys so they have plenty of company here.
