How do you keep your water from freezing?

You are lucky! I tried to switch to a heated waterer with the horizontal nipples when it got to 10F here, and my dumb chickens couldn't figure out how to use it after 3 days, no matter what I tried. I almost lost them in the process.

This is one of the reasons I don't use the horizontal nipples. There are just some birds that don't learn and I don't want to guess.

It takes time and patience to switch birds from open waterers to nipples,
the switch should not be done during extreme temps.

Lots of good ideas.
If you are using straw bedding, it keeps the water from freezing so fast.
Warm water freezes faster. It’s tempting, but you will have ice sooner.

Yes, keep close watch..some get it right off the bat, others can take weeks.
Not good to 'train' in extreme temps when dehydration can be deadly.
I put out an open waterer at the end of the day just before they go to roost to make sure everyones hydrated.
