How do you know when your chickens are starting to crow?

3 our of our four 7 week old chicks are making a screaming sound in the morning... Any thoughts??? I have it on video and can email it to anyone who might be able to tell..

Usually they crow at about 3 months of age. I have heard my youger ones scream, but im not sure its a crow. Listen to audio of crowing chicks and compare it to that of you chicks scream.

I had a roo in one of this year's hatches start crowing at 7 weeks. It sounded a lot like a scream. He'd make a little 'eeeeeeEEEEEEeeeeeee!' noise. Pretty hilarious. It's turning into a more traditional crow as he ages and his voice deepens.

My serama roo has been crowing since 6 weeks. At first it was kinda of squeaky and broken but now he crows well.
