Sounds like you’ve got a great system. I used to dump and replace water just like you. This year I got a heated bowl. So far so good. You have power do you think you could use them too? Frozen water was always my biggest chore in winter. I think I’m gonna love the heated bowls.

I found my chickens would perch and poop in the heated bowls and buckets. What I do is turn a wire tomatoe cage upside down and put it over the bowl and buckets (Bend the points over so they are safe). They can still reach in for a drink but can't perch. Works great for me.
