Always interesting how the connection continues on. I'll probably freak people but oh well. My buddy BooBoo hung around for at least 2 weeks after he was physical gone from this earth. He's been gone over 9 months and the dog that lived with him still honors his spot beside the bed and does not sleep there. BooBoo had a hand/paw in bring Daisy into my life. He was old and cranky and I said I would not have another dog, until he had passed on. A year before his passing, a friend took in a rescue sheltie, I said no...can't do it, BooBoo would have a fit. She brought her over anyway and his eyes just lite up when he saw her and he become her proud guardian. Some might say it was just coincidence but BooBoo could be very aggressive towards other dogs most of his life and he chose Daisy. I believe that he knew I couldn't live without another dog here and he was right, my heart hurt so bad, I didn't know how I would make it. Tough old bat that I am...I was crying all the time, and still do when I realize he is not here physically with me. Daisy will never replace BooBoo, she lacks his impish smile and oh so glad your home enthusiasm, but she is a polite little thing and we enjoy each others company.
I think the fact that Spook offer up Lila's name would be enough for me to make sure that little cutie was headed my way.
