How do you Mend a Broken Heart? ***Hello Katie***

The rescue folks that had her told her that her mom and dad were on their way and that ever since then they you catch her staring up the path to see if they had come yet. I saw her She saw me. Done deal!!.

Had had absolutely NO training whatsoever. Crate training and riding in a car became one and the same lesson after having to arm wrestle her 45miles in the truck until we found a walmart with a soft crate that would fit in the jumpseat of my truck. Could have sworen she pulled out my shoulder. Once in she calmed right down. Now she doesn't want to go in because it means ride of sleep.6more hours home and we can begin real training.

Wondering if I am too dang old for this

Coyote - she'll be more than plenty worth it. I love blue heelers - beautiful beautiful dogs and awesome personalities. I fosted 2 heeler puppies last year - they were the smartest critters but very funny/goofy - lol...you want to talk about a smart cookie? The female would nose the two sliding locks on the petmate kennels open and then go and free her brother as well every morning about 6am - when my alarm was going off. - lol.

OH Coyote.. I am so happy for you and for Miss Katie she is soo pretty.. God i cant stop tearing up everytime I think of how great her life is gonna be with you...

Magic, I've wondered about this a lot about myself. I'm 64. I finally decided that we are only too old when we decide we are too old. Some of us decide sooner than others, which is (I am convinced) why we see so many stories about people in their 80s and 90s hang-gliding, mountain climbing, parachuting, and all the other fun stuff. They just haven't decided yet that they are old. So I am trying to take a page from their book and keep on 'keeping on' for a long time yet! It's all about attitude!

Thanks Rusty! It's amazing what a good nights sleep does for attitude, lol.

Today we worked on "Sit", visited the vet and dealt with tummy issues. Changes of food, water, and stress are working their way through. She's almost got the sit down--with treats. I talked to the folks at Petsmart today about puppy classes. They are suppose to be for puppies up to 5months but because she hasn't had anyone work with her in the past and was a little anxious around the new dogs they said it would probably be good for her. I'm thinking to take my cooler over to Petsmart and just sit there on Saturday and give her exposure to all kinds of dogs.

Now if I can get her to stop trying to eat "The Evil Butterscotch" kitty!

Things are so new to her. Things you wouldn't even notice. The lights blinking on cell and other towers in the area. The coolest one is what I call the Auzzie Toad. She sees a bug or some thing scurry away. She jumps straight up in the air and come down in a pounce on what ever she was chasing. Looks like a giant Aussie Toad pouncing around the side yard.

We are having issues with potty training. She's not giving us clear signals that us dumb humans can understand until it's too late. I need something with things that she can shake to turn on and have sound so I know she want to go out. Once outside there are so many things to to set loose the Aussie Toad on so I sit there on a milk crate until finishes the deed. Shortest time. 24minutes. Thankfully the storm went by before we went out!!

She's doing well on sit. we ever worked on that one while we were playing decapitate the Big Mean Kitty! http://www.bigtimedogtoys.net/big-mean-kitty1.html She wants the one that looks like "The EVil Butterscotch

OMG look at the ad on our local Craigslist!

My in-laws recently took in two female blue Heelers (were obviously dumped). They appear to be around 4 months old and are very sweet. They have had them since Sunday and the two pups stay on the property and are not destructive in any way. My in-laws would like them to stay together, but know this may not be an option. There is a SMALL adoption fee to ensure they go to a good home. If interested, please email [email protected].
