How do you pronounce "Ameraucanas"?

How do you pronounce "Ameraucanas"? We have one, but we can't pronounce it and don't want to look like idiots when we talk about it at black tie functions

This was an old thread and there was some debate about proper spelling, too. Pronounce it like it's spelled.

Uh-mare-uh-KAW-nuh, to put it at its simplest.

Any other spelling means the bird is not a purebred Ameraucana. It's an Easter Egger, mixed breed, "mutt." You can get one of those for under $6 per chick, but for a purbred you will spend close to $30. You will NOT get a purebred one at a feed store.

Although EE are very nice, fun birds and most lay blueish or greenish eggs, they will not breed true.
