How do you pronounce Campine?

Almost everyone around here says DEE Ukcle (like uncle, without the n)

My response is that I do not say "don-tee" for don't or "diden-tee" for didn't.

Okay, I've got the answer!

Since Campine is a region in Belgium, and the primary (60%) language is Dutch, I asked my co-worker how to pronounce it. She is from the Netherlands and without hesitation she said "Cam-pin", like "lets go campin", with the accent on the first sylable.

***EDIT***

Upon further discussion with her, she corrected the subtleties of my pronunciation and said it is more like "kemp-in", and it rhymes with "that horse is limpin".

You had to throw those out there just to confuse the rest of us..... rflol

That makes sense because people from that region call themselves Kempeners ( sp ).

So now that we are all confused... HOW have we decided to pronounce it? Is there a Campine club? How do they pronounce it?
