How do you pronounce chicken names?

I say it ass-tra-lorp.

I have Australorps and a Buff Orpington Cockerel. I was thinking if I hatch a cross, I'd call them Buff Ass. Then someone suggested Orpalorp, and for some reason I got the Oompa-Loompa song stuck in my head.

Being Aussie I say os-tra-lorp, guess it comes down to accent
And I-sa brown

Accent definitely plays a role. I don’t know how I got ass-tra-lorp since the ‘aus’ in English does not make the ass sound. But the English language doesn’t make sense half the time.
