How do you pronounce cochin?

I've always pronounced it caw-kin, but I recently met someone who prounces it co(long o)-chin. Am I pronouncing it wrong or is there more than one way of pronouncing it?

I have always heard co (as in co-chairmen, co-leader, etc., a long O sound) chin (the part of your face formed by your lower jaw).
