I beleive there are some sex-linked pigeon verietys, but with others, you realy just have to watch them. Males do mating dances where they spin around in circles and make wabling noises. they also follow around the females. the girls are usualy quiter.

Adult birds are fairly simple, once you watch them interact. The males will put on quite a display and will chase the hens all over the place.

As for sex links, there are ways to tell the males from the females, on certain color matches. There are a few basic things to understand. Males can carry two color genes, females can only carry one. The males get their main color from their mother, the females get their color from their father. If you have a blue male and red female, the blue babies will be females and the red babies will be male, but they will probably have small blue specks in their tails, sometimes underneath.
