how do you sex exchequer leghorn (6 week photos added)

Good Day,

THIS IS A PULLET...Without question...We often call this color "mottled" you will not know if it is a exchequer until close to reproduction age...I am a serama breeder, and have to deal with vary small combs to differentiate gender...at an early age...

She is a She...

We don't have any exchequer leghorns, but read this thread to get info. If leghorns develop similarly, then our two, at 6.5 weeks old, are most likely for sure probably I think girls. Hope that clears it up lol. Our white leghorns have small, yellow combs at this age.

Beautiful little bird!
I've got my first exchequer egg in the incubator now, due to hatch (with a mix of others, including a white leghorn and some barred rocks) in 2 weeks :D can't wait

I know this is an old thread but want to know if this is a cockerel. The comb sometimes looks a tinge yellow but in this photo more pinky, red.
Thanks for help.
Sorry for your loss pearcie

Are you asking about the one to the left? how old is it in the photo? to me it looks like a roo compare to your other molted.

Thanks

I am also looking for help sexing an exchequer leghorn. I've never had them and thought this was a roo, but when I started googling, it looks like it may be a hen after all. Anyone know for sure? Age when this pic taken was around 21-22 weeks
