Being bald is not a good indicator of sex.... coturnix roos will "roo" anything....
I have two very bald roos now... hens will also be the aggressor at times and scalp the roo... Bill
I can see it now.... Hey Steve, what are you doing after work???? "I am going to go squeeze the foam out of my roos' vent".... oh boy
Thanks for the ideas about bald roos.....I may need another bout of beer sexing

AND WHEN YOU SQUEEZE THE FOAM OUT OF A RECENTLY MATED HEN THEN WHAT?
You end up like me, with 5 hens laying and no fertile eggs in sight.
And that fake 'roo' also mated other hens too (mine are white with colour patches, so telling individual birds is quite easy).
What prompts roos to crow anyway? Mine almost never do, I now have 3 'known' roos and they crow maybe 2-3 times a day, so waiting for them to crow is a bit tedious
