How do you tell the age of the chicken? HELP

It's difficult once they're full grown. There are a few things that may help, but they aren't fully accurate. Old hens may have spurs. Young hens will have smooth legs, old hens will have thick scales (old scales laying on top of new scales). Old hens may have shorter tail feathers. You can check the rate of production. A young hen will lay very frequently, an old hen may not lay at all. If it is a laced variety (such as brown red), lots of lacing may mean she is old. Good luck!
