I'm just happy to find out that I'm not the only low-tech person who uses a notebook and pen!

Hash marks on a calendar. Pretty basic. I mark total eggs, and then any that broke or froze.

I think that is very effective. Low tech and gets the job done.

I walk into the coop and say “who laid an egg?”. Then all 6 of them line up, even when there’s only 4 eggs. Little liars....
