how do you treat an 8 week kitten for fleas?

got her today and she's covered =/ gave her a bath non-medicated but is there anything else I can do? Vets are closed til tuesday.

bathe her with Dawn dish soap, which should kill most of the fleas. Then comb her with a flea comb and transfer any fleas you comb out into a bowl of soapy water to kill them. then i'd treat with a drop of advantage, but if you need to wait to see the vet, the dawn should at least get rid of most of them until then.

I used to rescue feral kittens who were always covered with fleas. My vet and I used Adams Flea spray, even on the four-week-olds.
