Don't go to the pool supply store to purchae your DE. They add something to it that will kill chicks and pets, I love my dogs, so you can order it on line or go to your local feed store and buy the DE there. it will kill ants mites ticks fleas just wear a mask when you use it as it is very fine and easy to blow in the smallest breeze, but the final results are great. Be sure you tell the local feed store or in our part of the country co-op what you plan to use it for. middle tn has an abundance of ticks, so i plan on my chicks and DE for tick control. GOOD LUCK
