How do your Ducks like their Pumpkin prepared?

Since it's that time of year, It will be our Ducks first time with eating Pumpkin. I was just curious if they like it one way better over another, Raw or Cooked ?

Raw.... I literally take mine and throw it on the ground so it smashes everywhere like watermelon in the summertime. They will love it.

Since ducks don't have teeth, I was just curious if I needed to cube up the pumpkin into small pieces for them?

They don’t need teeth, that’s the purpose of the grit they eat. It grinds up the food in the crop so it can go down into the stomach and be digested.

Yes. It used to be believed that pumpkin seeds were natural dewormers; a myth that has now been debunked. But either way, in moderation it is ver good for them. But I say moderation because like any other winter squash pumpkins are high in carbohydrates.

oh yea for sure...antioxidants (the color are carotenoids) plus pumpkin is good for their reproductive and urinary tracts.

I understand the whole purpose of grit. I just figured since pumpkin is harder then watermelon, maybe it had to be cut into small bite size pieces for them.
