How do your Ducks like their Pumpkin prepared?

Pumpkin - raw, cooked in the oven to soften and make the seeds oh soo good for them... they also LOVE squashes - acorn, etc... - and as i've posted before, chickens LOVE BAMBOO leaves :). if you have any try it...cut them up some and see they will go nuts. ! bamboo is great for GUT health.....antioxidant, lots of silica for their nails :)

I understand the whole purpose of grit. I just figured since pumpkin is harder then watermelon, maybe it had to be cut into small bite size pieces for them.
Nope, not necessary at all! I’ve seen my chickens swallow large chunks of whatever because they wanted to eat it before the other chickens took it and they are all perfectly fine.

I know exactly what you mean about chickens swallowing large chucks of whatever? I have seen our chickens eats some very large frogs that they have caught in one gulp!

I have been curious to put a big old Bullfrog in their run one morning to see how they will react over that experience? :lau:wee

Lol, I have seen mine eat a whole toad also. I wouldn’t recommend it though; they probably carry diseases. I would skip the bullfrog idea lol 😂 they will chase it down and peck it and it won’t be a pleasant experience for the poor bullfrog.

I see how they treat the smaller frogs and it is over quite quickly. I wouldn't let them torcher the Bull frog or anything mean like that. I was just curious how they would react over a frog of that size. :) Our four little Isa Brown hens are not very big themselves and thought the size of a frog like that might let them look at frogs a little differently in the future. LOL

mine don’t like seeds (i’ve tried like 10 different types and they don’t take more than one bite) so should i just remove them and give them the other parts? or leave the seeds in and hope they will eat them? 😂
