How do your Ducks like their Pumpkin prepared?

I don't want to startle the girls to much or they may quit laying for me.

I've never tried pumpkin with them. They adore watermelon though, when the geese let them have any. The chickens will eat the flesh, but the geese actually eat the rind. It's quite impressive.

I know exactly what you mean about chickens swallowing large chucks of whatever? I have seen our chickens eats some very large frogs that they have caught in one gulp!

I have been curious to put a big old Bullfrog in their run one morning to see how they will react over that experience?

Since it's that time of year, It will be our Ducks first time with eating Pumpkin. I was just curious if they like it one way better over another, Raw or Cooked ?

Well, I give my chickens including Guineas raw of anything like that. e.g, Cucumber, water melon, Pumpkin etc.

I read the seeds need to be soaked and shells removed before giving to the ducks because they can have a hard time digesting them?

My flock is still working on the large pumpkin I set out for them someone is even chewing on the rind.

Gave my ducks and chickens a nice sugar pumpkin and two days later it was still untouched. Next time I'll try cooking it for my little divas.

Mine have been eating on one for 2 weeks they just about have it done. It took about 2 days before anyone would go near it.
