how does $2.25 sound

92Caddy, that just shows, once again, the difference in areas. Here people love colored eggs, including the green ones.

Are there any healthfood stores there? If so, what do they charge for their organic/natural/free-range etc. etc. eggs? Depending what they sell them for, perhaps you could sell yours to them?

Yes-- sometimes you can sell to the health food stores. I wish they had a forum section on here just for marketing, selling, and pricing.

I sell mine for 2.50 a dozen. I deliver them. Mostly elderly customers. I sell 10-12 dozen a week. I am now 2 weeks behind on the demand. I wish I had more hens but I think the demand will probably calm down. You can market your eggs in weekly traders or post signs around town. I guarantee that there are plenty of people who will pay you 2-3 dollars a dozen if they find you. It is paying for my feed and allowing me to expand my farm. I had to turn down a really great deal with a local restaurant because of the USDA regs. He wanted every egg I could supply him with. If you try hard enough you will find buyers right now. I read in the paper that Globally eggs prices have increased 69% in the last year because of feed prices.
