How does one get the white out of the hackle in Lakenvelders and produce a blacker tail?

My wife calls it the Ost Sea, which confuses me, lol. North Sea it is. I would try and catch them also.

Sorry Mrs. Weaver. I assumed by the nickname and I assumed wrong. I would like to stay in touch with you if this is ok also. I am American but stationed over here in Germany. I can give you my email if this works. I am always interested in getting to know those who like the same hobby as I. Have you thought of using a SUmatra mix with your Lak by the way???

Don't worry, I've done the same. Cant ever have enough chicken friends lol. I did think of it, but haven't since the comb shape and color; face, earlobe and leg color are different, not to mention the angle of the tails are very different. I thought of this when I only had two golden hens and a sumatra roo. No mates to them. This was a few years ago and I have lost all three of these birds to old age. Now I do have breeding groups of each, so it hadn't come back in my mind. Why has it crossed yours?

I have thought of it. Would make the down darker and possibly the head and tale darker. Would have to breed back a lot though to get back the shape and normal tail I think. I also have thought of Black Hamburg but these are rare.

Maybe a black Andalusian same comb, earlobes, legs and shape all around

I believe these have been tried and this is why the Lakenvelders look like they do in the US
