How does your rooster crow?

Quote:
His crow scared all my packing peanuts to the other side of their brooder, poor babies! Can't wait til they start! I love my rooster crows.

My polish, Geronimo, goes rrrrr RRRRR rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, really high-pitched. But he's just a teenager, hopefully it'll be more manly.

My hamburg does the same crow at a lower pitch. Makes me laugh, cuz his voice is lower even though he's littler.

Roo, my Faverolle, has a very pretty crow but he starts so early (4:30AM), not that loud though. I barely hear him.
Chickie, my frizzle Australporp/who knows what mix, rarely starts until I go to the garage to get him off of his roost in the morning. He sleeps on the top of my Nordic Track and I give the others the coop. His crow sounds horrible...like he is imitating me!

our rooster actually has a very manly crow now.

oh gee... my silkie roo kinda sounds like a goose and honks... if thats his crow he sounds AWFUL! He's 20 + weeks now and I'm yet to hear a good real crow from him.

How should he sound... is that honking really his crow?

Too funny! When he first crowed, he scared all the pullets and HIMSELF half to death. He let out his screech, er... "crow" and all the pullets took off flying. Scared him so bad he took off flying after them. After a couple of tries, he got comfortable with it - but it took the pullets quite a while......

Now that he has a "man" sized crow, the girls just love him. He's quite the fellow these days. I try not to mention his first crow though. I mentioned it once and he did NOT see the humor in it. Men.....
