How does your SO/parents/roomate feel about your chickens?

Dh is building another coop. He has laid claim to a lf Black cochin hen, He named her Dads chickie. He found and brought home a 10 hole nesting box that needs new bottoms. He is out there happy as a lark, revamping it. He has been known to drive long distances with me to pick up whatever....wherever. He wants to be the one to let them out in the morning. Loves to see the bug rush. He has patiently dug things out of dump piles because I have said Ohhh that would make a good grow out coop. He has made 2 of those. I found an old shop fan with no motor or blades, just the shroud and 2 grill guards. I was wondering out loud if you could possibly make a brooder out of it. Wallaaa Great brooder. Oh, he watches chicken TV with me. So he either secretly loves these chickens or just puts on a good show because he loves me. I am a lucky spoiled woman.

Awww... I love bantams. My D'Uccle is the sweetest thing ever! My mother does not like my chickens at all! She says I'm crazy for sitting in the coop.

. She says I'm the only person that sits and watches chickens. I personally see nothing wrong sitting with my very friendly lap chickens.

my husband says they taste like chicken... other than that he has no interest in them unless it's eggs for breakfast or I need help at butchering time

his grandmother loves them.. she is addicted to chickens even though she hasnt had any herself in several years (they travel a lot and i dont think she wants a live chicken in her camper)

one of my mail carriers is terrified of them.. she swears they are attack trained...

Dan got his first 'real' eggsperience listening to me and another chicken person talk chicken for almost an hour...he just stood there with a chick in his hand looking at the both of us as we discussed everything from emu to chickens, small genetics info, feed, etc, etc, etc. Now he knows how I feel when he talks 'computer'.

The laying hens are mainly my domain though my husband built the coop and run and will give them food and water if he sees they are out. The meat birds are a family business so we are all involved.
