Our chicks were born April 3-4. Today we got a very small egg- 1/2 the size we usually get from our two chickens. It is about the size of an avacado put. I say it s just a freaky small egg. He is convinced it s a 'beginner' egg. Is that even possible at 12 weeks?

The earliest I've heard of a chicken start laying is 15/16 weeks... 12 does seem a bit young!
It's possible one of your older chickens has laid a 'fart egg'. It happens from time to time, and it's nothing to worry about. :]

We cracked it. The shell was so thick and hard- never seen anything like it before. And it had no yolk. Weird. I have convinced my husband it is not one of the chicks!

Some people call those rooster eggs. Not because a rooster laid it but because it has no yolk.
