How high can 2 w/ old chicks jump/fly???

I'd go with a solid plastic bottom and hemp or pine shavings as bedding.

This is what we used when we first started. Now we just brood chicks out in the coop among the rest of the flock.

With chicks especially I wouldn't use a wire floor, the foot injury risk is pretty big. But personally, I don't like the idea of a wire floor with any animal. That's just a personal preference though.

We have our 3 in our spare bath tub. It has worked great so far. They are three weeks old and yes, they flap and fly around. We keep the glass doors (frosted) closed now. Our tub has a tile ledge surround so it's wider than a typical tub enclosure and I can see one of them up there through the glass frequently now.
