It is so hot already. I have been worrying too. I just want to say good luck to everyone this already hot spring going into summer. Thankfully we all have BYC to help each other.
I'm in Sylva, NC...in the Smokies, and it's been way too hot here, even at our elevation. Our run and coop are not hugely spacious, but the run is open on all sides, except for a small portion where the feeder is hanging. I keep that shaded from the sun and rain (what little comes). But they get to free range most of the day, and we're pretty much surrounded by acres of forest. If they aren't in the woods somewhere, they're hiding under the front or side deck. Here are a few pics....
Under the deck....
This is where they begin...
....and end...their circuit up onto the hill behind us....
In the afternoon, it's nice and shady in the side yard, and they hang out there, and down the hill until evening...
Of course, if they get hot, this is the look I get....
