Only my standard size hens do this I have a NH red also.
Besides the fact that Hazels eggs are darker than sally my nh.
Now when i go over to her she squats her whole body down.
Which Sally also does. Hazel just started doing it today and I have noticed a couple darker eggs in the nesting box.
Before she laid her first egg she was sweet and all but didn't like to be touched or picked up.
Today was totally different she let me pick her up and when I put her down she didn't act like she just got free from a hostage situation
My bantams don't have this behavior
