How in the heck do you sex a frizzle?

View attachment 1116586 These guys are just 3 weeks old, and there certainly aren't any normal feather characteristics to go on, but I'm thinking the reds have to be girls and the blacks boys. Are you all comfortable with sexing by the comb at this age?

I have no idea, or experience with frizzles... but they are adorable!!!

Comb development. A red comb before 10 weeks of age is a sure sign of a cockerel.

I'd keep an eye on the red chick on the far right in the cute group photo of just the reds. I can see some rather pink wattles coming through. By 6 weeks it should be very obvious who's who.

I agree with what has been said that any with red combs/wattles are probably cockerels. We had a frizzled Cochin and he was the sweetest little guy. First rooster I ever had. He saved a hen's life from a hawk. Love frizzles, think they are so interesting!

1st picture, the black on behind the yellow's comb is red comb.
2nd pic, the one on the right, agree with JaeG
3rd pic, the two black ones on the right got combs that are red

Wait until they're between 6 - 8wks, then repost pictures. They are cute!

I had some frizzles this year, and I sexed them from their comb development. Post some pics in one to two weeks, and we should be able to tell. Or you probably could!
