How is everybody hatching this year?

Lotsapaints!!! Bite your tongue. Compared to chicks poults often peep much more and louder too once they reach the brooder. Usually only lasts a few days.

I'm down to the last few turkey eggs. Last night we had 29 out of thirty four already hatched. This morning there was one more out, but not yet dry plus two more that had pipped and zipped, but hadn't yet stuck their heads out. The final egg had pipped but not gone any further and I'm not sure it's going to. I think we'll get at least 90% hatched.

Wow, that is some kind of great hatching ratio!! What kind of incubator do you have?

A Dickey 2x2 (cabinet type with two incubator trays, two hatching trays).

To be clear we set an initial 35 eggs. One was clear, the remaining thirty four went into the hatching trays. I miscounted in that last post, 29 had hatched by last night. This morning one more was out with three that had pipped and zipped and one that had pipped and apparently quit. That should add up to thirty four.

when I saw the blue tape thank goodness it was masking tape not electrical. They are beautiful clean eggs I so hope to have a great hatch and hoping the mutts hatch too. With these I'll have as many poults as you do as I have 15 MW ordered from Welps.....Sure glad I love eating turkey and most of the extended family does too.

The last Bourbon just hatched so I know have my first heritage turkeys with more to go into the incubator tomorrow. All I can tell for now is that they are very active take a while to get dry and very cute still don't cheep as loud as my Delawares did when they hatched

Just thought I would give an update because I am so very very excited at the moment. Broody #1 successfully hatched 9 of the 11 eggs but didn't want the poults. Broody #2 took the poults with joy and broody #1 was eggstatic to receive the 15 eggs that are due May 3. Broody #3 is oblivious.

Maybe I should have penned each girl separate, but too late now. I made sure each had their own nest and couldn't see the others but still having complications, obviously. Should I be worried? All the girls seem content now. First time turkey grandma

My hatch is going well! I have fourteen healthy chicks so far, and five more zipping.

I also have a duck egg that just pipped, so that's exciting as well. This year's hatches didn't start out so well, as I kept having bad luck and only got two serama chicks out of a lot of set eggs, but it seems my luck finally turned around!
