You know , i wouldnt mind the 150 if they were in the right place, like on my tooshie and upper body you know were , but they are on my hips, thighs and lower belly. Just where they not supposed to be. Its either the darn southern food or my ability to et everything without gaining weight poofed away when i turned 30.. or both. Eating dinner at 8-9pm dont help thecause either.

I just have to ask...where are you getting Southern food in Ohio?

i once lost 30# by cutting carbs, but i was an athlete trying to go 'extra light'. that worked great but i couldn't keep it off (it was artificially light) then just a few years ago i lost 55# by just eating reasonably and having absolutely NO snacks. took me back to my normal weight.

one of the key things i did was to eat very boring food all the time, like the same thing for breakfast weeks in a row, same with lunch.

now i once in a while have ONE cheesecake chocolate thingy or something.

You guys wanna know how I stay at my set weight? I satisfy my chocolate addiction with dark chocolate twice a day - not massive amounts, just a chunk....

You should see the looks of the grocerer when i asked for it.

and all the italian and polish food packs bunch too calory wise.

It's not easy! Particularly when your addiction is sweets/sugar.

I went from a size 18w (210lbs) to a size 10 (162lbs) this year. Never before in my adult life have I been in a size 10. It's crazy! Started losing the weight in March/April after I gave up all soda (diet included), sugar, and anything with high fructose corn syrup. You wouldn't believe where you find high fructose corn syrup. It's in everything! Bread, cereals, ketchup, hot dogs, soups, canned pastas, snack foods... the list goes on. I turned to using more products that were organic because of their all natural ingredients. I drink a ton more water. To help satisfy my urge for sweet things, I often drink 0 calorie flavored waters such as Aquafina FlavorSplash. When I just can't stand it and am craving actual candy or chocolate, I try my hardest to find a small bag of something that is made with Splenda (yes I know the debate on here about it, but it works for me and I like the product). A lot of name brand candies have these sugar free items available at most stores now-a-days. But I remind myself not to go overboard. And to top it all off... we're going to be planting a huge vegetable and fruit garden in the spring. Away (blocked off) from the chickens.

The weight came off pretty quick at the beginning of the year, but when I added physical exercise (coughcough*buildingacoop*coughcough), it just seemed to melt off. Never thought it could be like that for me as it always seemed so hard before. I keep commenting to my husband about how unfortunate he is to have his wife turning out to be a female version of Tim the Tool Man Taylor (minus the accidents, thankfully!). I've currently got my daughter's closet smashed to bits. I'm overhauling it to make a reading nook with overhead light for her bed to fit under.

But back to those dratted sweets... yes, why do they have to tempt us so??
