How is the cuckoo color "made"?

I'll probably never mature past "roo" or "rooster". No matter how old I get I cannot say "cock" without giggling.
Rooster is fine. Roo not so much.
Cock... now ya that's worth a giggle at times.
A lot of show people love to use that term and if your minds in the gutter some statements are really entertaining.
I just say rooster most often.

I was pretty sure I read that “roo” was kinda faux pas here... I’m sticking with “roo” though... “cuz I is what I is”... as far as a rookie with chickens and genetics, I don’t plan on ever going pro...and I’d rather not pretend to be what I “ain’t”.;)

But in any case, I really appreciate all the expertise from those who possess it... and their patience and tolerance with and for those of us that want to learn

I have a feeling she crossed in Barred Hollands to get the coloring.
