How is your flock today?

At what point do they start having two heads and three eyes with purple polka dotted colored eggs? :gig :lau

I'm sorry, but if you want 2 headed chicken's with 3 eyes and purple polka dotted egg color, I'm afraid that you will have to try to breed for those yourself! :p

@BlueBaby In all seriousness, my temperature/humidity thing that you recommender should be her tomorrow or the next day. I still need to pick up my Buddies old school incubator.

My question is this, we average 3-4 Isa Brown eggs a day and should be fertile if Chewy isn't shooting blanks. What is the best way to keep them until I have enough to put in the incubator?

Keep them in an egg carton at room temperature and turn them over in the carton once a day? or you do something different?

I am thinking of trying 12-14 eggs to see what happens. :)

I would start with the smaller batch since it's your first time, and you need to gain the experience and to learn how that incubator is going to work.

As far as storing the egg's until you are ready to incubate them- Yes, store them in an egg carton with the big end of the egg up, and place something under one end of the carton, and then rotate that item to the other end of the carton. Do that 2 or 3 times during each day.

You tried to hatch 2 dozen egg's before?
No not me, I got them for my older gentleman friend who wanted to hatch them for his grandchildren. He is the one who has this old type incubator that I will be using. That is why I wanted to get one of those temp/hum thermometers for it to make sure it is calibrated correctly before I put any eggs in it first.

He actually has two of these old type incubators with egg turners in them. I think he said he purchased these machines from TSC years ago. He used to incubate hundreds of eggs so he is no newbie. I am just curious as to why those two dozen eggs didn't hatch, maybe the machine is off?

I will post pics of everything when I get it so you can have a look see also. :)

If they are very old, they also might need a new part to replace something that might have gone out on it.
