How is your flock today?

You know it's funny you mention that because I really think I have become more sensitive too towards animals as I've gotten older. I hadn't realized it's probably because of the connections like you said. That's super cool about the microscope!! I actually was researching that awhile back as I want to do the same. I also have that same desire to continue learning and growing to detect health issues early.

Last year I was able to save a goat from polio which is really time sensitive they can succumb within I believe it's from a day to a couple days sometimes. I had to administer shots every six hours for a bit and in general for I think two weeks. I'd never given shots before. He recovered completely, I think that's where I've gotten a lot of my confidence in this type of stuff. I mean I've helped and saved animals throughout my life but that just felt really different like I was giving shots and all that. That was just last year. I'm learning and growing so much I feel like.

Thank you so so much!! I'm glad you think so too. My mom and I dote over her so much. I think she just has the sweetest and cutest little face lol. I really do love her so much. Thank you for the comforting words about her eye too. Sorry for rambling!! :hugs
Just curious how did you know your Goat had Poilo?

Barred Rock.
O ok, How many eggs is she setting on, just curious? We have 4 Isa Browns and since they are a sex-link, they will not go broody from what I have read, so I have 22 of their eggs in an old school incubator trying to learn the who process. Since they don't breed back true, I was also curious as to what the baby chicks would look like?

You will have to keep us posted as to what happens, best of luck. :)

I don't know how many eggs yet. She's in a bad spot and needs to be moved, I'll count then. I wasn't prepared for this, but would feel bad taking her eggs now. I don't know what I'm doing...I'll update as I learn.

Bad spot for you, but a good hiding spot for her then, LOL I am certainly no expert, but if she is not in any harm, maybe best to leave her alone to do her thing?

I would fear disturbing her and moving her may make her not want to set after, @BlueBaby is an expert with this type of stuff and she will chime in later with correct information. :)

I suppose I could do some other moving around...If Mohammad won't go to the mountain, bring the mountain to Mohammad type thing. Where I would like to move her to, I could separate off for a look no touch area for a bit. I'll spend today learning before I do anything.

@BlueBaby will be your best advise on this because she is the one who has experience with broody hens. Give BlueBaby a little time yet, she will be here soon to advise you. :)

I can give time. She was off the nest earlier but back now along with 3 others. Hoping they're just laying because I know 4 broodies at one time would not end well. I might just wait a couple hours, kick them out, collect all eggs and go from there.

O-wow Goats too, that is awesome! :love Do you know the breed?

No, I don't know exactly what they are and never looked into it because I wasn't interested in getting any goat's myself. Both of those are males though, and the shape of the horn's are different looking from each other's. If I ever got anything like that, it would be sheep, and most likely the Dorper's because they shed themselves. :lau
