How is your flock today?

My first hatch with my brand spanking new bator landed at about 6 days on the 4th of July. My neighbors are crazy for small kine fireworks along with the 2 show we have locally. They go to the beach and just light the place up. We'll, the noise, the smoke and then an electrical outage for 4 hours gave me about a 70% hatch rate. But, I think the bad hatch was because 1 egg went sour and I should have taken it out. That was a lesson learned. So, as I don't hover over my hatches (anymore because I trust my bator when I set it right (other story about my last failed hatch and exploding eggs)) I have learned to check for failed eggs. It may be because we have warm & humid weather almost always.
