How is your flock today?

The hatching that I did last month, I ended up with 5 pullet's. The only cockerel that hatched was a fail to thrive and passed.
Oh how dreamy! Quick! Buy a lotto ticket ♡♡♡ all that good luck in one spot. I tell ya, if that happened to me... I'd be walking on air.

It was a 22lb turkey and I make turkey jerky out of the breast that was absolutely amazing and then make a crock pot of turkey soup with home made dumplings with the remains. :)
Oh yum! You are clever. I'm not much of a cook anymore. That Jerky does sound inspiring though ♡

But I want a Bielefelder cockerel for breeding these, so I now have hatching egg's for those in my incubator that are from a different breeder. Hopefully I'll get one to hatch out on the 17th due date.

I have seriously been considering making ground chicken jerky out of our 8 cockerels for when it is time to send them off to freezer camp. Even if the meat is a little tough, once it's run through the meat grinder it isn't going to matter. I can only imagine how flavorful the home grown meat will taste. :)
