I wasn't very happy to see this recall this morning on the early news channel, now I have to go through our freezer and look at all the pork etc. we just bought. Just more confirmation as to why to raise your own meat.

I seen that also. I refuse to even buy a ham for Christmas now.

Same here, I did buy about 40lbs of pork shoulders around turkey day for $.99 a pound and was going to make sausage after the first of the new year.

When I look today at them and if I don't have any recalled pork. I will pull one and cure it for X-mas dinner. I still have time to pull that off.

IMO, it wouldn't seem very much like the Holidays without an awesome Ham to enjoy with your meal!

I look at the holiday's as having a chance to treat yourself to a type of meat that you don't normally eat the rest of the year.

@BlueBaby not sure if you seen my old post about adding AGH hogs to our small operation this spring.

I just found a person on CL who just had a litter of pure breed AGH piglets and they will be ready at the beginning of February. I spoke for two bores and two gilts. Then I will need to find another pure breed bore from another breeder.
