Back home 20' will support a shallow well pump (hard water usually ) Then 60' and deeper endless soft water because of the sodium in the water.

I'm not exactly sure how to be able to read this, but I'm in a part of Pinal county. I do know that the farmer's out here are supposed to be having to dig the well's deeper now for what they plant.

This looks to be information that is gathered from water well drillers that is sent in and recorded with the State. Great information for anyone buying property who needs to know if there is water available close by or not?

Back home there is a large farming operation who grows many thousands of acers of potatoes and they have a lot of irrigation wells for their crops. The problem with so many irrigation wells in such a close area caused a drop in the surrounding water table, so all the people in the surrounding areas who had shallow wells were starting to run short on water and they had to drill deeper wells. It's my understanding there was a lot of unhappy people in the area because of this.

Maybe this is the reason the farmers in your area need to drill deeper wells, to help keep from sucking the shallow water table dry? Interesting stuff, property isn't worth much if you don't have a good safe source of water.

Speaking of water, ( Rain ) I have been having to put down concrete pavers and flat bocks in our goat pen to help keep the goats up off the wet muddy ground. All I need is for them to start having hoof issues because their feet can't keep dry. :barnie :he The pavers and concrete blocks in their pen will also help with keeping their hoofs somewhat filed down also, so I don't mind doing it for them. The price on the used material isn't to bad, the real work is hauling everything by hand.

The girls had a ten egg day yesterday so that was nice to see. :) Out of the four chicken eggs one egg was in their nesting boxes and the other three were in with the duck eggs. I am wondering if my nesting boxes might be to small now that they are bigger and that is why they lay them in the ducks nest? One more thing to add to my list of 101 projects. LOL

Yes, that may very well be the reason why, especially when they want to put in and build new housing anywhere in the area. They are supposed to make sure that the amount in the water table will be able to support the population for 100 year's (I think it is). Sometimes the local government's get greedy though, looking forward to being able to get more tax revenue out of the extra population's and business's that can move into the area. And then we have people from over in California also using the west side of AZ. to grow thing's like almond tree's that need a lot of water to grow.

Late summer/early fall I had let my next door neighbor have a few of my hen's that were already laying, so most of my flock are now pullet's either just starting to lay or will be laying soon.
