How is your flock today?

I would smoke them if I had more of them. Maybe next year I will get a smoker. LOVE smoked meat!!

I so miss having fresh pork on the hoof, Love my homemade smoked bacon, ham and sausage. I am going to try and add two little piglets as soon as I move some animals around to make a little more room.

I was given this little electric smoker and have been very happy with it. Otherwise I use my old homemade refrigerator smokers.

@Parront What breed of ducks do you have?

These last are mixed breed. I have 1 pair of Rouen, 1 Buff pair, 1 Anacona pair and a lonely Runner duck. The ducks were all running together when I collected these eggs. 2 males were eaten after the eggs were gathered, 1 Beautiful Golden Cascade and a male white layer.

I would love to have pork! Ducks and pigs are similar! Both love mud baths.

Duck is awesome, I like them smoked just like wild turkey because they are all dark meat also. Once we start growing our flock, there will be some extra meat poultry as we go.

You are already growing the flock, and you are getting the incubator ready to start another hatch going on Friday, isn't it?
