how is your home decorated?

I don't really have a style...its a mix of everything and has the lived in look...I really need to get rid of alot of things... my dear MIL is bad about giving me tons of stuff..weather I need it or not... gotta love her...

I'm sitting in my great room looking at a knotty cedar cathedral ceiling, wall that are a deep red below the chair rail and a very light grey above. There is a large commissioned oil painting of deer over the fireplace, hanging on the walls are a mounted squirrel, a prong horn antelope mount, 2 deer heads, a wild turkey fan and beard, pelts from a grey fox, a red fox, a coyote, an otter, a beaver, a skunk, 14 signed and remarqued deer lithographs, 2 european mount caribou racks, 2 deer skulls, a 5 lb mounted small mouth bass, and a antique wolf trap. On the end tables are lamps with carved water fowl. A large floor lamp constructed from 3 elk antler sheds sits behind Granny's rocker. The oak mantle has bas relief carved caribou walking across the frieze and facing caribou heads carved into the bosses. A coffee table with elk etched into the glass top sits in front of the couch and a glass octogon end table with a mounted fox lying in the snow sits in one corner. The swagged curtains are draped over small deer racks in the center and held back on each side by a single antler. Oh yeah the furniture is leather in hunter green. With the exception of the sewing room and Granny's bedroom deer and duck lithographs decorate the walls. I'm not sure what you'd call the style but I like it. Hope once remarked that there was nothing in this house to indicate that a woman lives here. I could only ask "and your point is"?

we are only 4 months into this house so there are still carpets here but they stop the doggie fur dust bunnies....

we have leather (real and fake) furniture in our main floor and lower level family room, only glass and metal tables in the proper living room. We have the odd "needs work" antiques. Lower level family room is entertainment central from sterio and BS T, woodstove and computer desk etc.... multi function

Dining room is a bit more modern than not with an oak table and chairs and a modern metal and glass wine rack.

Sun room is octagone shape and bright sunny yellow, love this room best ... has a modern dinette set that is one of the high ones... this is where the parakeet spends her time and flicks her food

Muted shades of greens and yellows... throughout the main

Our bedroom had a huge wood king bed and the tall and "ladies" dresser and mirror from my mothers original set which needs refinishing (solid maple... beautiful wood)

number one son has a front bedroom with one wall the has four sides to it (angled) so its pretty cool, he has painted it burnt orange

but its actually quite nice

number two son's room is a hovel... we close the door

Our home is "lived in"... thankfuly my Simon likes to clean while I build stuff!

I'm not sure what my design style is. I think I'm warm contemporary with a little bit of asian influence (not in the living room so much but in office and dining). The house is in the middle of a remodel (has been for two years) but here are a few pics...

Here's the office before the new window went in and before I filled the desk with paperwork. Paintings are mine.

Here's our dining table set for a dinner party with our close friends.

A living room I decorated for a client. I bought everything and then DH and I decorated it completely (including kitchen area). My living room is currently a mess, can't take a pic right now (this painting is also mine, it's the Truckee river).

very pretty!

I had to go look at paso finos like in willkat's sig. OMG they are amazing

everyone's homes sound so comfy dust bunnies and all! I still have my christmas tree up too. Trying to get a little undecorated today.

I think it's really great you took the time to look up Paso Fino's!!!

I can't say enough good things about them. They are so smooth, like riding a magic carpet. I bought one from a breeder in Mississippi and fell so head over heels in love with him I went back and bought his brother.

My living room is "warm". Meaning, you feel like you can come in and just relax. It's got country stuff all in it...except for the flat screen TV.

I have chicken curtains, chicken pillows (Christmas present from my bf's grandma!!!!).

The kitchen is clean, has a modern flare to it (not my doing...we're in an apartment). Again, decked out in chicken paraphernalia. Bedroom...chaos. Utter chaos.

Here is the living room + dog:

The painting above the couch is from my childhood. It was my mom's. The couch has the chicken pillows on it now...everywhere are chickens!

I don't know why the camera catches all those particulates, but it's NOT dusty in here...I have no idea what they are?

I take it back....my apartment is:
Broke college student/ hand me down/ giveaways

They kind of mesh well together!
