How long after a fertile egg is layed can you keep it un-incubated?

The mom is a Buff but big daddy is a Partridge so they can throw either color but most likely light partridge. A friend of ours bred two partrige that had buff backgrounds and it threw light partridge. But since the MOM is buff could throw half and half.

If your interested. once my naked neck partridge and birchin pair for sure are laying fertile eggs you might can buy some of them. We think the one in the bator now is fertile.
