How long after you hear them Chirping till hatch?

How long after you can hear the chickies chirping will they begin to pip the shell? Is it a good sign when you can hear them?

Yes it is a good sign. It means they have broken the internal membrane and are now breathing air!

They usually do pip soon after. As to exactly when, well, it is up to the lil peeper

LOL, Ok good advice thank you...I just got so excited when I heared it chirping through the shell.

Now just to stand back and wait..LOL easier said then done..LOL

In my first too hatches I heard peeping on day 19 and hatched most by day 21.
On my last hatch (miserable hatch rate), heard peeping on day 22, all had finally hatched by day 24. My first bad hatching, was miserable, out of about 30 eggs only had 6 survivors. We won't be doing that again. It was a staggered hatch and dh had moved my bator to a new location.

This is only day 9 for my recent hatch. And I have several breeds and some jackpot eggs from a local breeder (BC Marans eggs from Bev Davis).
