How long are eggs good for?

K so from picking it up from the nest till it goes bad what time frame am i looking at? how long can eggs stay at room temp after collecting before they go bad. how long in the fridge?

They will keep up to 2 months in the fridge if they are clean out of the NB and are not washed. Washed eggs likely won't keep as long. Sitting on the counter, not sure. I know in France they don't refrigerate their eggs at all, but not sure how long they will keep. I would guess three-four weeks, not washed.

I know that egg farmers have 30 days to put them on the truck, then they are stamped 30 days from then, so
60 days for refrigerated "factory" eggs. I never refridgerate my eggs and leave them out for 30 days. By that time
I've either eaten, sold or gave away. I'm not sure of the scientific research though.

Do A float test... Put the egg in water, if it floats, its bad.... This happens because as a egg rots, the gases inside the egg (rotten egg smell) will fill the egg causing it to float.
