I've been keeping it to about 25 minutes, and it doesn't seem to hurt it or nothing, it stays plenty warm, and it goes to sleep and blisses out and makes cooing noises an looks about now and then, now and then trying to climb to the top of my shoulder, and what not.

No, there's 7 all told, it included, they were incubator hatched, but I was hoping if I held it a lot, with out a lot being to long of course, and stuff we'd build a bond and it'd like me when it was older. kinda be a buddy and a pet, I named it Spartacus, we're not sure of their sex yet, all them came strait run, but that's ok, Spartacus is an ok name too if it's a girl.

I had an orphan pet turkey I raised from a baby. They make the most wonderful beautiful noises. I don't think you are doing him any harm. When he wakes up I'd put him back with mom. Birds personalities really vary. There is no telling how tame he will remain.

they sure do make the sweetest noises of contentment huh? It makes me sad to put the lil warm bundle back in the box. I love to hold Spartacus, and pet and hear the sweetnoises Spartacus makes, and have something so lil to coo over, I tell Spartacus, soon you'll grow big and strong, and you prolly won't wanna cuddle any more, or in any rate will be to big to cuddle:p

There's no mom, they're incubator hatched from a feed store, but I put it back with the 6 others.

Oh good. Mine loved to be right against the base of my neck. Maybe because it was warmest there. When he got to be a teenager it was fifty-fifty if he would want to cuddle or not. The cuddle turned into him being under my long hair while he preened and trilled. If he was in a bad mood I would come back and hour later and he would allow a cuddle.

you may end up with a 40lb lap turkey

yes, you just might!!!

Our heritage turkeys, the ones I like to cuddle are gonna be small 20-25 pound birds, supposedly, but some of those other suckers the brown ones will grow to 60-70 pounds, and wouldn't that be one massive " lap turkey"
